Darfur is a terrible place. With innocent people living there, being killed and the women are being rapped. There are 160 camps in Darfur, the camps are their safety place. When they go on the outside of their camp, the women could possibly be rapped or the men could be beaten. The women and men have lost a great deal of things. Their crops and animals were taken, their land was taken, and their family (possibly killed). The enemeies have taken children and have been teaching them how to fight and kill. Why would you do such a thing to children?
The women in Darfur have to go in groups in order to have water. If they do not go in big groups they could be killed or rapped. The Darfur poeple have to get food from the outside. They have to cut wood to stay warm during the night and winter. They believe that if you kill a living thing, it is a sin. They had to get wood outside of the camp and they were hurt bad by the presidents workers. So, now they are cutting off of a living tree and they feel terrible.
As we sit here and get schooling and saftey promised to us, food on the table and we get to stay warm. What do they get? Hurt, killed, and rapped? Why are we special? If they are getting treated like this, then everyone should be getting treated like this. They deserve what we deserve. They should be able to sleep and get wood, and be able to get water with out being scared. People need to speak out and help those who can not help themselves. They need to be helped, and we are the ones that can help.

Darfur needs your help
What i've lbacks. earned about Darfur is that, their always under attack and they have no clothes or animals. Because when they got attacked they took all their animals and food. The women had to carry there children on their backs and some women even got bet in the back with their babies on there backs. Some babies even got killed because there mother had got bet in the back while they were still on there
Darfur Now
This week in class, we watched a very touching documentary, Darfur Now. This documentary not only made me aware of what has been happening in Darfur, but also made me want to lend a helping hand in putting an end to the horrible things that hundreds of thousands of innocent people have had to endure.
The Janjaweed, or"Devils on horseback" as some people like to call them, have been torturing and killing the people of Darfur for many years now. When the Janjaweed goes on an attack, the village being invaded usually endure the following treatment: houses are burned, animals and crops are taken, any people are killed, womenget visibly raped in front of other villagers, people are beaten, and small children are taken. Since this is occuring more and more often, many tribes have banded together to create one large village. Villages that are closer together are safer than villages alone. But outside the mega- villages, it is very unsafe.
In the 1970's, a very similarevent occured in Argentina. One lawyer who helped put an end to the genocide there was hired to help put an end to the events happening in Darfur. In the documentary he is shown telling his story and in court. Two generals were prosecuted thanks to this generous man.
In my opinion, the trajedies here need to come to and end. This documentary has made me want to put forth efforts in this area to help the Darfurians.I will tell the people I know about Darfur.

In my 9th grade Geography class we watched a documentary about Darfur. I learned that that this is a very serious problem. When I watched this video it made me think how lucky I am to live in such a safe place. I think the U.S should send people over to help out. i will tell the people about the problems in Darfur.

During my 9th grade year at East Robertson my Geography teacher decided to let us watch a documentary about the crisis going on in Sudan. The government has been suppling guns and other weapons to the Janjaweed so they can go and kill out all the Darfurians for no reason at all.
This crisis is called a genocide, a mass killing of a certain group of people. If we don't end this now, then it will most likely end up like Hitler and Germany during the 2nd World War. The world needs to come together and put an end to this massacre. Join now to the fight!

Darfur Blog
Most things would not give me the incentive to advocate my opinion or help greatly but the happenings in Darfur are excessively cruel and needs to cease immediately. I was informed, through the film Darfur Now, that people are either harmed or killed everyday in the Sudan area in or around Darfur. As a student i can't prevent exclusive events from occurring to the highest degree but I can absolutely do my best and excel to express the tragedies present. More of the population needs to try even the slightest bit to care for or support these poor, innocent inhabitants of this area. As a student I can't prevent exlusive events from occurring to the highest degree, but I can absolutely do my best and excel to express the tragedies present. More of the population needs to try even the slightest bit to care for or support these poor, innocent inhabitants of this area. As much as I can do is explain the trouble-some occurrences to close friends or even go as far as writing the governor of my state. Even telling one single person of the tragic dilemmas would help the cause that much more. I'm sure that I would like to help this problem for various reasons and some are far too complex to even say. But my main point will remain to do and find perpetual peace for Darfur and hopefully it will end in a pleasing result.
Darfur Now
Untill I watched the video Darfur Now i was unaware about modern day genocide. The people of Darfur are being killed because of conflicts between Arab nomads and African farmers. The Sudanese government is funding a group of people called the Janjaweed to attack the African villages. The government, however, denies any connection with the Janjaweed although evidence has been collected proving otherwise. Some have formed rebel armies to attempt to protect others from being attacked. the villagers that have been attacked are either displaced or killed. Awareness needs to be spread not only about Darfur, but about modern day genocide itself. As a student I can help spread awareness simply be telling a friend or family member about the crisis in Darfur.
My Darfur Blog
I stared to understand after learning about the events of the genocide in Darfur. The Sudanese government has taken part in the genocide by hiring soldiers that are called 'Janjaweed' by the tribal farmers and people of Darfur. There are many efforts that are trying tohelp stop the genocide by having passed a bill that banned U.S. oil companies from buying oil from the Sudanese goavernment. I believe the oil bill should help to weaken the Sudanese economy so that they will not be able to supply and support their hired military. Hopefully the U.N. can arrest leaders of Sudan so that the genocide will stop. I will help spread news about the genocide in Darfur by posting this blog. Also I will tell my friends and hopefully they will spread information about it too. Hopefully all these things will have a positive effect of the genocide. I can only hope that the genocide will come to an end.

Genocide in Darfur
A genocide is a mass murder of people. A genocide has been happening in Darfur,Sudan, since 2003. Darfur is not the only place to deal with a genocide; Argentina had one in the 1970s. In result of the genocide in Darfur, many people are being killed, and people forced out of their homes and to go to refugee camps. This is happening because they are not Arab.
The Arabs doing this to Darfur are called Janjaweed.People who buy oil from Sudan help pay them. It's very dangerous for help to come to Darfur because the Janjaweed can attack. They also kill witnesses who see people being killed.Beautiful areas are being destroyed by the Janjaweed.
Several different programs around the world help Darfur. The World Food Program donates over forty thousand tons of food each year. The Red Cross also helps out too.
Some people think you cant do much here for Darfur, but you can actually can do a lot. You can keep up with current news about genocides and find out ways of help. You can also tell people you know about genocides and help join the effort.

i believe that, we americans can have more compassion for others, instead of our own situations. Also we should think how it is effecting the wellfair and lives of even young children.
things we take for granted or take advantage of daily, such as; indor plumming or electricty, are things that they will never experience. so we should reach out and find a way to help darfur,,, and i think we could do it,, if we started small and got bigger with a little idea, could help tons!

attacks,genocide,and murder in darfur
In Darfur there is a lot of attacks by the Janjaweed and they are raping the women as they go out and get water and if they run, they get shot or they get chased with guns and the men and some women are out there defending their Society and doing practices everyday to prepare for the next attack from the Janjaweed.I will do everything in my power to go and help the Darfur people. It's so sad that the people in the Darfur Society houses are being burnt down as they leave and I hope that they will get well.

Troubles in Darfur
It's terrible what is happening in Sudan. Darfur has been through so much, they are abused, raped, and beaten. The children are taken from their mothers, and the women have to sneak out to the water pump or will get raped. Their are so many things I can do for Darfur, but I will do what I can do, because I know I would want someone to help me if I was in that situation.

Darfur Blog
Today, I saw a video about the genocide in Darfur. The video, with its emotional appeal, is a documentry about the homless and rebels who lost their villages, homes, and loved ones by the Sudanese government. Though they deny any connection , we suspect that they hire Janjaweed, or devils on horseback, to raid villages or kill defenceless people. All this started in 2003 and, unfortuntly, still continues today. Many countries have volunteered, however, the Sudanese government refuses us, along with other countries that wish to help. The only help we give them is food and hope. Supplies to help with inguries is also forbiddin. By, 2007, UN estimated that 2000 people were dead. This is the first time our country has declared genocide while it's still happening. Many people help support and donate to local centers to help with the conflict. We can only hope that they will hold up in Darfur until we can help them and bring justice to their government. Until then, they will continue to fight.
